Delhi entrepreneur Mohammad Suhail prevented 200 tons of plastic waste from polluting the city! 🚀♻️

What happens to the plastic waste we throw away? Delhi’s Mohammad Suhail found a way to give it a new life. He started Athar Packaging Solutions, a company that recycles plastic waste into sustainable packaging. So far, he has recycled 200 tons of plastic, helping to protect the environment.
How is he making a difference?
Over the past three years, Athar Packaging Solutions has recycled 200 tons of industrial plastic, creating multiple positive environmental impacts:
1. Reducing landfill waste – By recycling plastic, the company prevents it from ending up in landfills, reducing environmental harm.
2. Cutting carbon emissions – Recycling 1 ton of plastic prevents 1.5 tons of CO2 emissions. So far, this initiative has reduced nearly 300 tons of CO2 emissions.

3. Promoting Sustainable Packaging – Athar Packaging Solutions is transforming 95% of plastic into sustainable packaging. It provides alternatives to virgin plastic for 700+ businesses across 60 cities.
4. Supporting the Circular Economy – This model is inspiring other companies to utilize plastic waste more efficiently.
Suhail’s Journey to Success
Step 1: Identifying the Right Plastic – After months of research, Suhail found that LDPE, BOPP, and LD plastics are recyclable.
Step 2: Setting Up Machinery – By collaborating with ML Polymers, he modified old machines to convert plastic into high-quality packaging.
Step 3: Building Relationships with Waste Suppliers – He convinced suppliers like Akash Plastic, Deepa Polymers, and Krishna Plastic Suppliers to support this sustainable initiative.
Step 4: Reducing Costs – Initially, Suhail sold products at just a 5% margin to encourage businesses to try them. This strategy helped him acquire 40 clients in the first year.
Step 5: Expanding the Customer Network – Using platforms like IndiaMart, Justdial, and Exporter India, he expanded to 60 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
Step 6: Diversifying Products – Initially, only pouches were produced, but now the company offers curated boxes, stand-up zipper pouches, and other sustainable products. The most popular product is the stand-up zipper pouch.
