a civil engineer, successfully cultivated Kashmiri saffron in Kerala’s hot and humid climate using aeroponic farming.
He left his traditional job to adopt this new farming method, which requires precise environmental control. Initially, people were skeptical because saffron usually grows in cold climates, but Seshadri made it possible.
He invested 10 lakh rupees and started a high-tech farm in 225 sq ft with 400 kg of saffron bulbs. Using chillers, dehumidifiers, and grow lights, he created an automated system that he could control remotely.
In just one year, he earned 12 lakh rupees and has trained over 100 people in this farming technique. His success has inspired many other farmers to explore saffron farming as a profitable opportunity.
